[...] I find Kiril [Chukinov]'s work fascinating
and would be pleased to see it flourish and be successful.
During my 20+ years in ___ plant design, I went through an interesting
metamorphosis. I was fascinated with computer based process control technology and drifted
toward designs of increasing complexity. They offered superior performance and operator
control.....but......were increasingly complex. In the past several years, I have changed
focus and am now looking for ways to get things done as simply as possible with as few
components as possible.....a sort of retro-tech. From this vantage point and personal
design philosophy evolution, I am inclined to gravitate toward less complex F.E. solutions as
well. Technology is both self promoting and self defeating. The more complex a
device or technology becomes, the more vulnerable and dependent it's users become on the
possessor of the technology. These technological dependencies allow us, the consumer, to
be manipulated and controlled by unscrupulous corporations and/or governments.
I cast my vote for the promotion of simple/user-friendly F.E. technologies that will both
benefit mankind and empower the individual instead of the technological toll-gate
operators. At first glance, Kiril's discoveries fall into this category. In
essence, he has created a room-temp nuclear reactor or cold fusion. While a remarkable and
noteworthy discovery, it's complexity could be self defeating particularly when there are many
other F.E. solutions with the promise of <COP 6 with much less complexity and expense.
As a high-tech venture worthy of investment for it's commercial spin-offs, it's probably
a good investment and has the potential to become the vanguard of the cold fusion
evolution. As an F.E. device, I'd choose a MEG any day.
