- Since 1972, the U.S. has been working on a tunneling project using nuclear
power, and mag-lev train technology, ostensibly to enable LA-to-NY travel in
half an hour, along the Highway 66-30 corridors, with tickets going for $50.
Recent booms heard along those stretches suggest the project may be
completed, but only for black-budget use, possibly for the deep underground
