Convoluted Procedure Required for Purchasing Any Product from AGC

1. Won't Sell to Just Anyone - "We cannot just sell you certain items for product liability reasons.  This is not a tinker's field.  We are not interested in selling to experimenters or curiousity [sic] seekers who want to see and disasemble [sic] the item.  If you are seeking to learn how to build something for yourself - this is not the place for you.  If you are a  'Hydrogen Enthusiast'  this is not the place for you.  If you want to carry on some kind of chat room conversation, please keep going onto you next surfing location on the web.  If you want a solution to use everyday, and you genuinely desire a product or system to actually use, then we can help." (ref, emphasis added)
2. Purchase their book (link to purchase found on most pages), "130 Octane, Zero Emissions - ISBN 1891950053" (Not available at Amazon.com/Borders) for $46.85 USD including shipping & handling.
   The book contains "sales and product info and how this all works."  It "is NOT a do-it-yourself manual."  The price of the book "includes domestic shipping on your first item on up to a $99.00 value, or 5 pounds of shipping weight on ANY product when purchased within 30 days of purchase of the book - except of course the TOTEM_H2 units." 3. Agree to their online contract - "Consulting and Non-Disclosure, No Compete Agreement"
4. Agree to the agreement set forth in the book - "You need to own the book and agree to the terms in that agreement as though it was fully set forth here.  Understand BOTH the agreement(s) well."
5. Purchase a Support Account with Password for $19.00: "Account setup for book bundle and consulting agreement" (link from contract page)
6. Pick a Product - Photos not available for all products, because these can be copied on websites, and they do not want that to happen.
7. Purchase Product Within 15 Days of Book Purchase - "You must send the written agreement and barcode before payments are made; and/or technical or warranty support will be available to you, and you must do this within fifteen days."
8. Don't ask any questions unless you pay for support - if you have any questions, and don't want to dig through their book or their site to find the answers, or if you cannot find the answers to your questions there (no search function on their site), you must pay their support rates to get answers.  There is no sales support phone number or contact address.
9. Pay their inquiry support rates - $45.00/hour with a two hour minimum, and $65.00/hour on-site with four hour minimum.  No smaller increments are offered. (see terms of support below)
10. No Ownership - "This technology provides you the ability to make Hydrogen gas where we maintain the equipment for you [at the above support rates] under the license and our research program. It is considered intellectual property licensed and not sold." (from contract)
11. No Photographs, No Showing Anyone - "You may not photograph, disassemble or even SHOW these items you come to hold from us to another party. You may only refer buyers by word of mouth - not by display or description of the item(s)." (from contract)
12. Warranty: "We will guarantee the operationality of the item and/or system.  Some have warranties." (reference [end of page])

This "contract" page is the web page a book customer is sent to after they purchase the book in order to begin the product purchase process.

AGC does not answer email inquiries except as a billable service, and not until after a person has bought their book and agreed to their terms.  However, they do not give this notice on the contact page itself.  http://max.supportamerica.com/cgi-bin/foundation/contact_form2.html

They give their support prices as $45.00/hour with a two hour minimum, and $65.00/hour on-site with four hour minimum.  No smaller increments are offered.

They also request "EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT. American Group shall be entitled to reimbursement from Client for the following 'out-of-pocket' expenses: - travel expenses - meals - postage - copying - Lodging for any job site greater than 50 miles from office or present long term contract work site - economy or lowest available rate rental car - out of pocket parts or supplies for completion."

Looking forward to feedback on this one.  Are these guys for real?  Do any of you happen to know them?  Can you vouch for them?  How reasonable are their prices for their products?  How well do their products perform?

At http://www.amer-grp.com/leftframe.html they say:
"Support E-mail is a billable support communication, and if you leave mail requesting, or, for support, you are agreeing to be billed. Support type E-Mail is answered pursuant to the payment terms."

At http://www.hydrogenpowercentral.com/welcome.html they say "Do not send email asking questions about the product, how it works et cetera - they will not be answered. The answers lie in the book , and you need to buy the book. We don't consult for free. We ship immediately upon arrival of the payment to us."  Then they give a link to the same contact page, saying, "If you must E-mail us".
